The five functions shown on this site — antibacterial and odor-resistant, antiviral, anti-mite, anti-mold and far-infrared emission — are the functions under which the material is marketed in Japan, in line with Japanese rules for textiles and household goods.

They describe the material itself (for example, the fiber or fabric). They are not claims that any product protects people from bacteria, viruses or disease.

The performance of a finished product depends on the application, the formulation, the loading rate and how it is used. We do not guarantee the same result in every product or environment.

Japanese labeling and test results do not give permission to make the same claims in other countries. What may be said about a product sold outside Japan depends on that country’s rules — for example, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules on treated articles, and the EU Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) and Medical Device Regulation (MDR).

We do not make antibacterial, antiviral or health claims for markets outside Japan. If you plan to sell in a specific country, please contact us and we will review the wording with you, market by market.

As on our Japanese site, we do not publish test reports, test figures or the names of testing bodies. The data that supports each function is kept by J.C. Technology and can be discussed with business partners under appropriate terms. A test report is a test result; it is not a certification or a license.

The GranovaQ Inside logo and Spec Stamp may be used only on products of brands that have been approved under the Inside Program, and only within the terms of the license agreement. Using them on products that do not meet the program criteria is a breach of that agreement.
